Pyramids of Teotihuacan, State of Mexico

Teotihuacán is one of the most impressive archaeological centers in the world. The city of the pyramids was inhabited from the year 100 a. C. until 650 AD.

The Pyramid of the Sun is one of the largest in the world and the most important of this archaeological complex, which has three levels and is located in the center of the Calzada de los Muertos.

You can access the top of the pyramid, just keep in mind that there are approximately 260 steps to reach it, but it is an experience that will certainly be worth every step.

Pyramid of the Moon

This pyramid is smaller but it is located at a higher point, however it is authorized to climb only to the middle. This site allows you to obtain an impressive view of the Causeway of the Dead.

From here you can see a perfect alignment with the tip of the Pyramid of the Sun and the top of the hill that closes the horizon.

Teotihuacan Palace

They are a series of palaces which have a very good collection of wall paintings.

The palaces were actually large buildings where families lived with some common areas that included courtyards and temples.

 Chapultepec Castle, Mexico City

Chapultepec Castle is also known as the Chapultepec Forest, which is located on top of the Cerro de Chapultepec.

It is the largest park in Mexico City with a huge collection of paintings, photographs, documents and objects that will show you the passage of history.

This park covers almost 700 hectares where you can enjoy this castle and its famous forest. Also, in the Chapultepec Castle Museum, you can find furniture from the time of the Spanish conquest, as well as personal belongings of the emperor Maximilian and Charlotte.

Archaeological Zone of Tulum, Quintana Roo

Tulum is one of the most important archaeological zones in the state of Quintana Roo, it is the only historical oceanfront site of the Caribbean Sea.

The archaeological remains of this ancient Mayan city are located on the seafront, creating an incredible landscape next to the crystal clear waters of the Mexican Caribbean.

You can find the archaeological site of Tulum:

  • The wall with the watchtowers
  • The Castle, facing the sea, is the most important building in the area. It was used as a waypoint for boaters to avoid the great coral reef
  • The Temple of the Frescoes, which is the best preserved structure, has paintings, engravings and sculptures
  • The Temple of the Descending God
